Kitchen Boys For Kerry

posted Monday, 23 August 2004

I just ran across an interesting article by a guy who analyzes EU policy. He confirms what John Kerry has said on a couple occasions; our European allies would give a warmer welcome to requests for support in Iraq by anybody but Bush.

Chirac and Schroeder are certainly the most unwilling to give Bush a helping hand, but they are not alone. “Most people want to help Iraq but not in a way that rewards Bush,” says a senior EU diplomat. EU policymakers also make no secret of their distaste for a raft of other policies being pursued by the Bush administration such as Washington’s rejection of the Kyoto Protocol on global warming, its calls for abstinence in the fight against AIDS, and opposition to the International Criminal Court.

“Most Europeans are not anti-American, but they are anti-Bush,” says Fraser Cameron of the Brussels-based European Policy Centre. As such a Kerry victory and an end to the influence of neo-conservative policy-setting in Washington “will have chancelleries across Europe, including in London, heaving a collective sigh of relief,” he says. “If George W. Bush had a master plan to upset Europeans… he could not have been more successful,” adds Cameron.

EU policymakers, who view almost all current American initiatives with suspicion, will be ready to give “more credit” to the future actions of a Democratic presidency even if the policies are not too different from current ones, says a senior EU diplomat. For one, Kerry’s language of alliances and partners is music to EU ears after four years of being bullied and treated like “kitchen boys” by the Bush administration. “The collective build-up of transatlantic insults and bad faith under the Bush administration can only be swept away if there is a change in government in Washington,” says the diplomat, adding, “The slate has to be wiped clean.”

If Bush still wants Kerry to "name some names" to back up his claims of European support, all Kerry has to do is whip out the EU phone book.

Most Europeons are anti-Bush? Does Tony Blair know this? Its a weak position to take with only the French and the Germans in your corner. The reasons the two lame countries (France and Germany) dislike Bush and most Americans is because Bush and those of us like minded Americans have a backbone and do not cower to those who threaten our people and our land.

Unlike the French and the Germans and recently Spain, the Bush-types realize that there is no freedom in a terrorist-ridden world and we will not sit idly by while the left whines and points their fingers of indignation from their do nothing perches.

If you would take a little time to research the facts you'd find that those in Europe that detest the USA and refused to take action against Irag and the other terrorist's safe havens were busy assisting Saddam in fleecing the poor oppressed Iragis and working in cooperation with those who sought our demise. The Europeons thought they would access to cheaper oil and wouldn't be subject to terrorist actions.

I say they are fools and cowards and I could careless what their opinion of Bush or the USA could possibly be. And you are jeopardizing yours and the rest of ours' safty when you parrot the falsehoods from the military Islamist-feared Euro-peons.

Wow. Do you have any facts to back up your opinion? The real world, including this site, is full of facts that make you appear ignorant.

Did you even read the quote?

“Most Europeans are not anti-American, but they are anti-Bush,” says Fraser Cameron of the Brussels-based European Policy Centre. As such a Kerry victory and an end to the influence of neo-conservative policy-setting in Washington “will have chancelleries across Europe, including in London, heaving a collective sigh of relief,”

The British public uniformly dislike Bush. Blair will likely get the boot when the next election comes around.

Bush had a chance to lead the world against Iraq, but he presented a case based on over-inflated intelligence claims that quickly fell apart when examined. By dissembling and misleading, Bush betrayed the trust of Americans and the rest of the world.

Lee, I'm sorry if you think that those who don't buy your diatribe are ignorant. But that is a usual position taken by lefties. When truth obstructs a lefty's position they quickly go for personal attacks, they go for the throat. Or they try to out shout you. Too bad they don't have the same energy when it comes to doing something productive; we would all have less to complain about.

So you don't care if Bin Laden is ever caught? And you honestly think Blair will be booted? I think you will be surprised when both Bush and Blair are reelected overwhelmingly.

You lefties have your panties in a bunch about strong men like Bush and Blair. Could it be they aren't Metrosexual enough for you fellas?

As for facts about the fleecing of the Iraqi people by Saddam's butt buddies the Germans and the French is well documented. Just because the liberal press has chose to keep it on the back pages the oil for food fiasco is still there and very much the reason your Axis buddies in Europe have no credibilty when it comes to world affairs.

I think what really bugs you is that Bush will some day be revered, such as Reagan and no matter how much the freeloaders in the USA and in Europe complain the majority of us "ignorant" ones keep on truckin'.

Haha! Frank, I back my "diatribe" up with quotes, facts, and numbers. You're the only one here choosing to make personal attacks rather than producing evidence to back up your wacko positions. :)

And I'm all for getting bin Laden. I'm pissed that Bush has been so inept in capturing or killing the guy who attacked America and killed thousands of Americans. Face it, your idol Bush doesn't care. He says so himself,

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

What a limp dud Bush turned out to be.

BTW, here's a really good book on pre-Iraq invasion diplomacy, "Allies at War". It's written by a couple rational people, so you might not like it. But I like to back my viewpoint up with substance.

Now AP and I do not always agree, in fact we often disagree, but Frank, he has you here. Your entire last post was a long complaint that lefties lack facts and only can name call. Not once in it did you cite a fact, or even allude to one. You did, several times, engage in name calling and other forms of fallacious reasoning. In short you look awfully silly. Reminds me of a debate I was in during High School. A local black activist and I were debating affirmative action. To rebut my citing of the 14th amendment he made the following comment which I will always remember, "White people are all racist because all white people view all black people as being exactly alike. That is what makes white people racist."

If you do not find that has hysterical as I did and still do, you need to reread it.

HMMM! Let me get this right there was no fleecing by the Germans and French during the oil for food fiasco? And I don't use facts and I'm ignorant and as Vandeervecken thinks I look silly. Just saying you use facts doesn't make it so cowboy.

I have no idea how perceptive you are Vandeervecken but the only people I ever think of as being racists are those who only see race. They see the world only through some colored lenses. Sad. I also once listened to a professor (no name needed)from Harvard, who lcukily is black, explain to me that blacks couldn't be racists because they are not in power. Only people in power can be racists.

Now for Lee may I refer to you as a friend? That said why would you think my views or myself is whacko? Did you exhaust your facts?

Frank, if you're going to try to debunk anything I say, then you need to back it up. Otherwise it's just your opinion.

For example on this topic, if you want to say that the rest of the world loves Bush and I don't know what I'm talking about, post a link to a poll or something.

For example, I just saw this in the paper today. It's conservative Tom Plate acknowledging that Bush has both Korea's hating him now.

There was indeed fleecing by many, includong Cheney's Haliburton. What ruined that claim is that in typical right-wing (or left for that matter) idealouge fashion you could not refer to them as the Germans and French, but as "butt-buddies." That takes almost all credence away from what you claim.

As to racism, to me there are many things that make someone racist. Mostly deciding that person A should get ot not ger the job, college slot, ertc becasue of theri race being first and foremost. I do not care what race the person is. I to have heard the absurd argument that Black's cannot be racist, anyone ever listen to Louis Fraakahn or Jessie "Hymie-Town" Jacson before?
