Why did Hillary win in New Hampshire?
She's got the experience
She's got the ideas
She got misty eyed

For those who may be mislead by the title of Arianna Huffington's book, "How to Overthrow the Government", let me put it straight. This book does not contain information on smuggling heavy weapons, making bombs, or mixing up anthrax. It's a witty and incisive book that targets some of the biggest problems with our government, and explains how to fix them peacefully and lawfully. Yes, I know that's much harder and a lot less exciting than a program of targeted assassinations, but it does have the benefit of not carrying the death penalty.

For those who have never read Arianna Huffington, she was a right wing columnist during Gingrich's conservative revolution. Like a lot of people, she soon became disillusioned with the Republicans. Now she's an Independent and an equal opportunity politician basher. For those who have read her work, you'll find this book full of the acerbic wit for which you love her newspaper columns.

This book was written right before the 2000 election. Ms. Huffington blasts away at campaign finance abusers, polls, and negative campaigning. This may be old news for some, but her 'no holds barred' style of writing is fresh and fun because she hits both parties right where it hurts. She also takes a swing at drug companies that push over the counter downers on children, and the irresponsible mainstream media.

Once she has you all riled up, she presents her 'call to action'. A program of political activism, voting with your wallet, and just plain hanging up on pollsters. I took this book to heart and started a political blog. I regularly write my elected representatives, I harangue my friends until they write letters to their elected representatives instead of just bitching over a beer, and I hound them until they have a decent knowledge of issues on which they vote. Or until they stop talking to me. Hmm... This book may be more dangerous than I thought.

"Lou Dobbs for President" is my New Year's Resolution. Just started today exploring internet and found you under"How to Blog" query -- I am technically illiterate and need to learn HOW TO START A MOVEMENT ON INTERNET to promote Mr. Dobbs -- listen for a week to him (6PMEST on CNN) and see if you don't believe, with me, that he is a Voice in the Wilderness -- neither party is doing anything for America on these issues -- trade and illegal immigration. Yet they are what ordinary people are most affected by.

I will check out american pundit regularly as part of my self-education.

Thanks Maggy!

Lou Dobbs does make a lot of sense on economics, doesn't he? 50 Ways to Love Your Country has some good ideas for becoming an activist.

Best of luck!
